Miami Style · Bold Colour · Effortless Print · An Interview by Sandhya Garg, Project Runway Designer

Quick Answer

Maria Claudia Gonzales is a Miami-based fashion and lifestyle content creator behind @itsmemariasee, known for eclectic personal style built on bold colour, statement print, and Miami-ready ease. We first collaborated with Maria in 2019, styled in pieces from our Amalfi and Jaipur collections, and her eye for effortless, joyful dressing is exactly why we still think of her as a designer’s favourite kind of muse. Below: her personal style philosophy, in her own words, and the pieces from our current collection that carry the same spirit.

Every so often you meet someone whose closet feels like it was built from the same design brief as your own. That was Maria Claudia the moment I saw her feed — Miami warmth, bold colour, prints worn with total confidence, and an ease that never looks effortful even when the outfit clearly took thought. As a designer, I love love love the way she styles herself, from everyday looks to destination weddings and fashion events.

Fashion’s relationship with independent creators has only deepened since we first spoke — today, influencer-led style coverage sits comfortably alongside traditional editorial, and Miami itself is regularly ranked among the country’s most-watched fashion influencer markets. Maria Claudia remains an active voice in that world, now creating across style, beauty, and family life for her community. Here is our original conversation, and the pieces from our current collection that speak the same language.

The Looks

Maria Claudia effortlessly put together the look below, working our bespoke Positano-print Amalfi jacket with a statement velvet hairband, a broad brown belt, a rattan cane bag, and delicate jewelry. Structured on top, breezy underneath, entirely Miami — and entirely her.

The Interview

In her own words, when we first sat down together: “I'm passionate about fashion, style and trends. With this blog my purpose is to inspire each and everyone to wear whatever works for them and makes them stand out from the rest with their own style. My purpose is also to inspire others to not be scared of trying out new trends and stepping out of their comfort zone.”

SG: What is your personal style?

“I like to combine colors, prints and trends. I would say my personal style is eclectic.”

SG: Your favorite travel/resort destination?

“Always the beach!”

SG: Your favorite look for Miami summer?

“Maxi dresses, statement earrings and statement hats.”

SG: Your styling tip for turning a boring outfit into a fashion success?

“Statement jewelry!”

SG: What did you love about the Amalfi jacket and the Jaipur-collection dress?

“I loved how easy it was to style them, and how big of a statement they made without putting in much effort.”

SG: Tips on being a successful fashion influencer and producing gorgeous content?

“As a fashion influencer your mantra should be keeping your feet on the ground and making yourself relatable with your audience. Always remember to keep an eye for your own personal style on your feed, and know that in this world there will always be a lot of noise, but you always have to remember your own purpose and why you started your fashion blog.”

SG: Anything you want to say to your followers?

“It doesn't matter what people say, if you like it, wear it!”

I couldn’t agree more — believe in your own personal style, and others will follow. You can still catch Maria Claudia’s eye for colour and ease today on @itsmemariasee, where her Miami-based feed has grown into a wider style and lifestyle community.
