The jacket is the fastest way to change an outfit. An embroidered or jacquard jacket over a black dress turns it into something else entirely, which is why these earn more wear than almost anything else we make. The Klimt Lace Blazer is reduced to $255 from $498. The Agra Gold and Babur Sea Green jacquard jackets are the newest, both open-front with oversized velvet bows. The Fleur Blue and Dauphine Black tapestry jackets carry hand embroidery across the whole body. Among the reductions, the Mira Black Ikat is $108 and the Nyra Beige Gold $98.
What ikat actually is. The yarns are tie-dyed before weaving, so the pattern is built into the cloth rather than printed on it — which is why the edges look softly feathered rather than sharp, and why no two lengths come out identical. It's slow work, traditional across Central Asia, India and Indonesia, and it's the reason these jackets can't be exactly reproduced.
On tops. The Gulab Tunic in blush at $98 and the printed tops here are cut to work with wide-leg trousers, where the rule is simple: if the trouser is full, the top needs to be fitted or tucked. Several customers buy the tops as sets with matching trousers — see also summer sets.
What to wear over a dress. For a cold church ceremony, an outdoor wedding running into evening, or a venue with unpredictable air conditioning, an open-front jacket solves the problem better than a pashmina and photographs as deliberate rather than as a solution. Choose one that picks up a colour from the dress rather than matching it exactly.

What is an ikat jacket?
Ikat is a resist-dye weaving technique in which the yarns are tie-dyed before being woven, so the pattern is built into the cloth. The characteristic soft, feathered pattern edges come from tiny shifts in yarn alignment during weaving. It's labour-intensive and traditional across Central Asia, India and Indonesia, and no two lengths are identical.
How do you style a printed top with wide-leg trousers?
Keep the top fitted or tucked in. A loose top over a full trouser leg creates one shapeless column with no defined waist. A fitted or cropped top, or a looser top tucked at the front, gives the outfit shape. Add height with a heel, since wide legs fall to the floor and flats shorten the line.
Are these tops and jackets available in plus sizes?
Tops run XS through 3XL. Jackets run mostly XS through XL with limited XXL and 3XL availability, and several are cut as one size to layer loosely. If your size isn't showing, any style can be made to your measurements for $50–$100 above retail.
