A traditional kaftan (or caftan) is an ankle-length garment with long, flowing sleeves, originally a long buttoned robe worn across the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond for centuries. It's distinct from a muumuu, a similarly loose lightweight dress typically printed with bright, stylized Hawaiian motifs like florals and palm branches — different garment, different origin, similar comfort-first philosophy.
