Queen's Garden Print
I researched the ornamental interiors of Versailles for this one: scrollwork, floral suns and botanical details from Marie Antoinette's private chambers. They run in vertical panels of lagoon teal, mint, sky blue and blush, a palette that looks like a Parisian patisserie window turned into fabric.
The two pieces
The Antonia Green Maxi is an A-line floor-length dress with handmade floral straps — the straps are the detail people ask about. The Sophie Green Midi is a straight-cut midi with bell sleeves and scalloped lace trim. Same print, two completely different moods: one romantic and sweeping, the other sharp and a little retro.
Where to wear it
Green is the colour people forget to wear to weddings, which is exactly why it works — you will not match three other guests. Garden ceremonies, spring and summer weddings, afternoon receptions. The Sophie's midi length and sleeves make it a good choice for church and temple venues with coverage requirements, and it moves into a work dinner afterwards without looking like a wedding outfit.
Fabric and care
Both pieces carry details that are finished by hand — the Antonia's floral straps are made one at a time, and the Sophie's scalloped lace trim is applied rather than printed. That is the part you cannot see in a photograph and the part people comment on in person. Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Hang dry rather than tumble, and press on the reverse. Treat the handmade straps and the lace trim gently — they are the slowest part of these dresses to make and the first thing that will show rough handling.
Made in a limited run
Every panel in this print was drawn by hand before it was printed. Small batches, made with artisans in India, and once a run sells out it does not return. Sizes XS to 3XL, with made-to-measure available on both pieces.
