Medina Garden Print
The softer side of my Fes Fantasy collection. I took the colours and geometry of Moroccan tilework from the medina and let palms and flowers grow through the tiles, in blush pink, hazy blue and mint.
The two pieces
The Rabat Off Shoulder Dress is named after Morocco's capital and pairs bare shoulders with the full medina print at maxi length — the romance of the neckline against the discipline of the tilework. The Moroccan Mint Top is made from 100% embroidered cotton with long sleeves and a wrap front, and it is the piece I would put with white trousers for a semi-formal summer event.
Where to wear it
Blush pink and mint are gentle colours, which makes this the print to wear when you want to be noticed without shouting. Daytime weddings, bridal showers, garden parties, christenings. The Rabat has the length and the bare shoulder for a beach or destination wedding; the wrap top takes you to a work lunch or a gallery afternoon.
Fabric and care
The Moroccan Mint Top is cut from 100% embroidered cotton, and the embroidery is worked into the cloth rather than printed on top of it, so it keeps its texture through every wash. Both pieces are made to be worn in heat — cotton breathes, and the colours are set to stand up to sunlight and sea air. Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent, or dry clean. Hang dry rather than tumble, and press on the reverse side if you need to. Wrap shapes like the Moroccan Mint tie to your own waist, so they are forgiving if you are between sizes.
Made in a limited run
Every piece in Fes Fantasy began as a drawing in my studio before it was printed and made with artisans in India. Print runs are small and are not repeated — once this one sells out, that is the end of it. Sizes XS to 3XL, with made-to-measure available.
